Who We Are And What We Do

In 2003, Monika Müller and her friends founded Anahata Association in Munich. In Sanskrit, a sacred and one of the oldest Indian languages, Anahata refers to the chakra of the heart. It symbolizes love, compassion, sympathy and this is how we at Anahata-Stiftung want to cooperate with others.

A Charitable Foundation

In 2006 Anahata-Stiftung was registered as a foundation trust under the Kinderfonds-umbrella (kinderfonds.org) to put the project on a permanent basis and to professionally support the volunteer members.

Social Commitment in India's South

Currently we are expanding our social activities from the small town of Puttaparthi to the surrounding villages: the three mandels Puttaparthi, Bukkapatnam and Kothacheruvu.

Charity organizations in India's South must meet two prerequisites in order to receive financial support from Anahata-Stiftung: they must file an annual auditing report and they must be authorized by the the Indian government to receive funds from abroad.

Coordination of social projects is taking place under the supervision of responsible professionals working for the Anahata-Resource-Center, yielding big savings. A lot of help and support could have been provided so far. Some of these early charitable projects are now running on their own, while others still need to be subsidized.
